The Coffee Song

GUY:
Who would pay to keep the owner’s kids in school?
Who’d sip and drink before the carafe cools?
Who’d pay the wages for these brewing fools?
If I didn’t drink coffee
Nothing like a cappuccino to start the day
An afternoon espresso takes the blues away
Finish the evening with a mocha or latte
Hey, everybody needs coffee

Miserable souls line up here when the morn’s still break
Just a jolt of caffeine will put them at their peak

CUSTOMERS:
No one gets upset when I ask for soy milk
When I say 172 degrees, no one balks
If they ask me how I am, I don’t need to talk
When I get my coffee

GIRL:
Wouldn’t it be nice if customers cared for me?
Wouldn’t dunk my feelings as they do their tea?
Be a bit patient and act polite-ly
When I make their coffee

Day after day these fools line up to the door
Just as I’ve filled a cup, someone asks for more

CUSTOMERS:
Nonfat cappuccino, make it half-caf please
Double espresso and quick, I’m in a hurry
Au Lait with soy – milk makes me sneeze
And I’ll have a plain cup of coffee
